Marronage.

︎︎︎Collective

logo designThis is the logo for the Danish decolonial collective Marronage.

"The word maroon was used to describe enslaved Africans who were rebellious or runaway slaves in the Danish West Indies. Marronage means organized slave riot or resistance" - Marronage

I made two different logos; one in a shape of a flame and one logotype made from Vocal Type's beautiful typeface “Marsha”.

On the flame logo I add a 3D flame look.  It was very important that the typeface used was something that the collective could stand behind and was made by a POC type designer so the work by Tré Seals (Vocal type co.) was perfect.
