concept & book layoutThis is a zine made with photographs taken by my father when he lived in Algeria. I have never been there even though I'm half Algerian and my father never got back since I was born. There has always been a lot of mystery about my father's time growing up in Algeria. I first started this project back in 2019 and got to hear some stories about the pictures. My dad passed away a year later and I revised the project.
My father was in Algeria from 1942 to 1965. It was a country influenced by war and on its way to independence (1962), a time when many countries had or wanted to free themselves from their colonizers.
